General Manager - Western Region

Organization: Known multinational freight forwarding organizations.

Reporting: Vice President – West India and Counrty Head - India

Job Description:

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

 

Responsible for the P&L of the Mumbai office which covers the entire west region.

Oversee the operations of the Freight forwarding business team overall as the Station head and mentor the team members by assigning them timely tasks & evaluating them regularly

Responsible for the GP figures agreed with the management for the Station on a monthly/ quarterly and yearly basis and sending timely reports

Extend support & ensure that all compliances/SOPs are met while handling CHA businesses of domestic & international customers to CHA head.

Support the Sales & Business Development team on new business generation by supporting them on the preparation of quotes, submitting responses to RFQs, and customer follow-up of key customers identified/ assigned.

To take active participation in creating SOP for business once secured to enable a seamless experience for the customers.

Helping management & sales team to develop new trade lanes/ business models by coordinating with Overseas offices, local sales team and regional Management Key is to develop good relations with key & active overseas partners in the Far East & Europe.

Follow up on Sales leads generated from the overseas network

Initiate efforts to regain lost business by the station

Responsible for mentoring the sales & operations team, evaluating them, and motivating them to achieve their goals & KRA

Qualification:

Any Graduate. Industry Specific Qualification (If Any)

Required Skills & Abilities:

Minimum of 15 years experience in handling Freight forwarding business with a specialization in Business Development, Key account management & Operations. Candidates with adequate Experience working with reputed Indian and MNC freight forwarding companies will be preferred.

 

Should be commercially driven and need to have good business acumen, deep knowledge of the market, customer focussed and should be able to manage a team of senior Business development professionals other than being able to generate own sales (minimum one time of his CTC) to justify the sales repertoire.
