Job Summary

Job Description:

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

 

1. Financial Management: Manage and oversee daily financial transactions, including invoicing, accounts payable, and receivables.

Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Prepare and maintain general ledgers, trial balances, and financial reports.

 

2. Bank Reconciliations & Payment Processing: Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are promptly addressed.

Oversee payment processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and suppliers.

 

3. Taxation & Compliance: Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including GST, TDS, and other relevant tax regulations.

Assist with the preparation of tax returns and other statutory filings.

 

4. Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management.

Provide variance analysis and assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.

 

5. Accounts Receivable & Payable Management: Monitor and follow up on accounts receivables, ensuring timely collection from customers.

Manage accounts payable, negotiating terms with vendors and suppliers as needed.

 

6. Auditing: Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards.

Assist in the preparation of year-end audits and support audit queries.

 

7. Inventory & Cost Management: Work with other departments to maintain accurate inventory records and cost allocations, especially for exports and freight services. Review and validate freight costs and export documents related to financial transactions.

 

8. Team Collaboration: Liaise with cross-functional teams, including operations and sales, to ensure the accuracy of billing and financial records related to freight forwarding and export activities. Support junior staff with training and mentoring as needed.

Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.

Additional Qualification:

Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in freight forwarding or with an exporter.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or ERP systems). Knowledge of GST, TDS, and other taxation laws. MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).

 

Knowledge of Freight Forwarding/Export Accounting: Familiarity with logistics and export documentation, invoicing, freight cost allocation, and handling foreign currency transactions, Will be an added advantage.

 

Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

 

Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Personal Attributes: Ability to work independently and take initiative while handling multiple priorities. High level of integrity and professionalism in managing confidential financial data.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations, managing account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. They will work closely with the Accounts Manager to ensure smooth and accurate financial reporting and to support the company's financial health.
