Sr. Executive/Asst. Manager Ocean Pricing

Job Purpose:

• Responsible for Pricing & Operation for Ocean Export department.

• To plan and carry out effective and smooth flow of services to customers on time, so as to maintain and build up strong business relations.

• Provide proactive customer service for all clients handled by department.

• Effective communication.

Job Description:

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

 

Process Management:

• Liaising with Shipping Lines, Transporters & CFS for the rates for Sea Export ALL Type on PAN India basis & Negotiating competitive rates with them

• FCL as well as General Container Planning on basis of receipt of Packing list from the Customer for Export Shipment

• Submission of Competitive quote to the Local Clients OR Overseas Agent

• Follow up with Sales Personnel / Agent for status of rates / offer submitted to them.

• To see that the Yearly revenue of the Department grows as per Company Targets.

Customer Service Activity:

• Communicate Operational requirements to Client and give Realistic Commitment to them.

• To ensure that all documents and procedure are in order from legal perspective.

• Handling Ocean Export (Nomination and Local Business).

• Co-Ordination with Overseas agents, clients, shipping lines, Insurance Companies, transporters, loaders & all departments’ branches and Management.

• Placing online booking of Containers wherever required.

• Preparing Jetspeed BL/Checking and releasing the BL of other lines on time.

• Follow up in regards to all the required documents from all concerned parties and ensure the same is filed on time.

• Coordinating with CHA / Operations Dept. in Handling Export Custom Clearance activity wherever required.

• Completion / Closing of Job in Software.

• Updating the client on vessels Schedules or any other development to client.

• Ensure to send ALL relevant Post Export documents to shipper / Overseas Agent within time & follow up for the payment after Credit Period completed as required.

• Single Contact for Customer, Overseas Office, Custom Broker / Logistics Partner.

• Tracking each shipment starting from readiness till it reaches Destination Port.

• Giving every update of shipment to Customer till shipment reach to Destination as per our scope of work agreed.

Reports: Generate Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Half Yearly and Yearly Statistics & analyse the same to identify the gaps, take corrective action & report the same to your reporting Manager. Preparing other reports as

required by Reporting Manager/Management.

Financial Activities:

• Checking the payment status as per Terms of Shipment before handing over the original documents.

• Timely Income/Cost booking in the System.

• Dispatching the bill and other required documents on time to the customer

Qualification:

Graduate

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Min 4-6 years of experience in Freight Forwarding/Logistics Industry.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Able to comply with consistently and work with minimal supervision.

• Comfortable working in a changing, dynamic environment.
